Awhile back I decided it was time Allison learn how to clean up the rug under the kitchen table. Especially since she is the one who makes it the messiest. We do pay her $0.25 each time she does it, but she has to get the vacuum out, clean the rug thoroughly and then put the vacuum back away. We're thinking we may eventually need to upgrade to a better hand-vac, let's just say for now she's earning her $0.25.
And Heidi finds it very, very interesting to watch Allison vacuum. We love having built-in entertainment for her!
