To Denali

One of the main highlights of our trip to Alaska was a trip up to Denali National Park.  Our friends, the Freys joined us for our trip.  It was a long drive up and back, but so pretty.

We started out at the park checking things out - the kids played on the big grizzly out front.  Then we headed to our cabins on a lake for dinner and a bit of exploring.

We began our full day in the park with a hike out to a suspension bridge.  Even the little girls were able to do this hike!

Allison and Jonathan were both on a mission to find something 'camouflage' with their jackets.  Allison found a spruce tree that was just about the right shade.

After lunch the little girls played in the science center while the big sister & brother hiked to the dog kennels.  They loved coloring and gluing their own 'dog teams.'

We ended the day with a stop at the dog sled kennels and were able to watch a demonstration.  I think this was one of Allison's favorite parts of the whole trip.  She carried Uncle Keeton's old stuffed huskies around the rest of our visit.  She and Jonathan hiked their way their from the main visitor center.

We ended the day with a campfire with a beautiful lakeside view!
