Savage River Hike

On our last day in Denali we drove in as far as we were allowed, Savage River.  Thankfully we were there early enough to get parking to be able to hike the little 2 mile loop to the foot bridge.  It was a good hike for the kiddos - including Heidi although a bit windy on the way back.  We only saw an arctic ground squirrel for wildlife, although we were pretty sure there were some bear or moose tracks across one of the sand bars in the river.

This girl EXPECTS snacks when she goes hiking.  She made it over the bridge and promptly sat down.  Until someone gave her some snacks.  Never mind the intense wind and that we hadn't really packed any.  We scrounged some up and gave them to her - but you can tell she was less than impressed.

There were some neat rock formations.
