Tonsils, Adenoids & Ear Tubes - Oh My!

October 1 was a big day for Allison!  She went in to have her tonsils & adenoids removed as well as her ear tubes replaced.  The week before she had a pre-op blood draw and appointment and was such a trooper - we were proud of her.  Then Grammie came home with Heidi and I from Colorado to help take care of Allison after her surgery.  We got up very early in the morning - since she was the youngest patient of the day we had the first appointment!
They settled Allison in with a new surgery center teddy bear and hospital gown covered in Looney Toons - Mark tried to teach her what each one was.
Her anesthesiologist was fabulous!  He had her playing with her mask before hand; thankfully no IV until she was under.
The poor girl was so tired when she was done; she had a hard time waking up.  Eventually she wanted Daddy to snuggle with her and she really wanted her pulse-ox and IV off!

She insisted on having a pillow for her which was rather inconvenient for Mark but awfully cute.  She got to watch videos until we headed home.  So far she is recovering really, really well.  She's been a bit hungry and it is a bit tricky to figure out what to feed her.  We're doing our best to keep her quiet and Grammie is doing an excellent job spoiling her.  Oh yes, and the first morning after she woke up she announced 'I didn't snore at all!'  And as far as we can tell she really didn't.  A first for her!  We love our brave little girl!

She's looking good! I'd say you are quite the trooper too. Glad she's recovering quickly!
