January Riding

We took advantage of our long weekend and a relatively dry day to get the girls out on their bikes.  Allison does great - and Heidi just walks along, every so often getting a little bit of a glide going.  She sure loves chasing her sister, though!

Oh, and she'll stop every so often and point to me and say 'picture!'  Of course I have to take one - this was one of her poses on our way back home.  We all love a break in the rain and free time to get outside!

Finished in 2014 No. 2

My friend Meagan asked if I would test her new pattern.  I made a wall hanging for Heidi to match her quilt but Allison was the only one who would pose with it.  This was my first attempt at reverse applique (for the moon) and quilting words onto a quilt.  I enjoyed trying something new!

P.S. - Yes - I am very late in posting this - for some reason it was stuck as a draft!?!?!?!

Saturday Morning Dates

I love this girl!  As she's getting older it is getting so much more fun to take her out with me running errands on Saturday mornings.  We started this Saturday with doing a photo-shoot with some friends.  She was an excellent assistance, holding the blanket, demonstrating poses, small-talking.....love it.  Then we had a few groceries and other things to pick up.  Oh, and we stopped for warm chocolate at a local coffee shop.  And talked about all sorts of things!  So thankful for mornings where I actually get a chance to sit and talk with her!

Little Sprouts - January 2015

The January Little Sprouts Club is one of my favorite of the year - the kids make bulb pots that bloom all spring.  This year was exciting for two reasons - Allison was able to do much of the work independently and she had two friends who were able to join us, Bekah and our neighbor, Dani.

The girls carefully arranged their bulbs with the large hyacinth in the middle.

Allison once again made a tag with the plant species names and one with her name, too!

So much fun, I can't wait for the little sprouts to start popping up.  Oh, and a note about Allison & Dani's pots, the instructor had lots of the shiny blue pots in a few colors but not enough for everyone, so she had some of the large pots, too, which weren't as nice in appearance.  But she said they were nice and big and we could leave the bulbs in them and they'd multiply right in the pot and grow back next year.  I was shocked when Allison selected one of the big pots!  I guess she took the whole grow back next year thing seriously!!  She usually goes for the prettiest!

2014 Photography

I usually don't post the pictures I take for my friends but I'd like to make sure they are included when I print our 2014 photo album - I love all of these pictures and especially the people in them.  As most of them are kiddos I want to make sure we remember what they looked like, too!
