Easter 2016

Happy Easter!  I love celebrating Easter.  The new dresses, spring and celebrating LIFE.  We had a great celebration - including stopping at a favorite garden that we drive by often to take pictures in the girls' dresses.  The gentleman who owns the house happened to be trimming trees and was delighted that we wanted to take pictures.

The Glubrechts, Wagners & Sowards joined us for dinner. Bekah made everyone their very own egg so we had a little egg hunt (with some chocolate thrown in, too!)

2016 Egg Hunt

I decided to make skirts for the girls (including Bekah & Lauren) for our annual Easter Egg hunt.  Unfortunately we had a very drizzly day for the hunt so the skirts were cute, but buried under jackets!  Heidi was well bundled and prepared to hunt her eggs.  Including her beloved flip flops.

Allison was the only kiddo willing to take a picture with the Easter Bunny!
These two had so much fun together getting ready for their hunt.  They love playing together.

As soon as they were done with their egg hunts they headed to the raffle to see if they won.  They both did!  Allison came home with a princess fishing pole and Heidi a Frozen themed kickball.
They were waiting for the big kids to do their hunt.

And we finally got a picture of all of them smiling!!  It was another great party - we're thankful the Wagners invite us to join them every year for their 'neighborhood' egg hunt!

Pizza, Spring & Go Beavs!

This girl didn't get a 'spring break' but we did have a fun night together this weekend.  First, she was hands-on helping me make pizza....

And watching intently while it cooked!
And I got her to pose for me while we waited.  She LOVES wearing her 'Go Beavs!' dress - and we're so. very. excited. there is still plenty of reason to wear it.  The women's basketball team is still playing it's way through March Madness and we're enjoying every game.  And I love how she now wants to pray for 'Ruuuuuuth' at night these days.  We're thankful these girls have some great examples of hard work, perseverance and character to watch on a regular basis.

And we topped off the night with some fancy spring cupcakes from our favorite local store.  The girls thought these were pretty special on a night when Daddy had to be out.  I'm disappointed we didn't get more snow & skiing in this season - but we are enjoying spring.

Finished in 2016 No. 4

I finally started and finished a quilt in 2016.  This is Brittney's annual auction quilt.  I used a Valori Wells fat quarter pack I picked up in Sister's during my fall weekend with Leslie and a pattern from my local quilt shop.  I filled in with a bunch of favorite fabrics from my stash as well.  It was a quick and easy pattern, but not the most efficient - I ended up with a lot of left over scraps.  It is already on it's way to AK for the auction!

Kroon Day and Sun River

Kroon Day was a weekend for us this year!  The pic above is actually from when Brittney came to visit.
We headed to Central Oregon on Kroon Day this year for a ski weekend.  Our day was rushed - so the girls got Hostess min-donuts as their Kroon Day treat (don't worry - more donuts would come later in the weekend!)

We spent Friday skiing at Mt Bachelor.  Allison finally got the hang of skiing.  She could ride up the chair lift and down the bunny hill herself!  She does need to work on learning to turn a bit but we were so proud of all the progress she made.
 Twinsies
 Family chair lift ride!
Heidi was in childcare all day - but got to play in the snow some.  Including making a snowman while we waited for Allison on her last ski run.

We had a fun weekend sharing a house with the Wagners.  Bekah and Allison both had homework to do....Heidi did her 'homework' as well - coloring pictures!  And we watched the Pac-12 W's BBall tournament all weekend, too.  Thankfully the Beavers were the tournament champs!!

We tracked down some donut shop donuts on Saturday morning while the guys went golfing.  Heidi loves her chocolate!

There was one little play area where the girls ran some energy out - then we took them to the swimming pool in the afternoon.

And Heidi-bug ended the trip with a bike ride.  It was such a fun trip - we always enjoy getting out with the Wagner family!  And the weekend was definitely full of 'all things Kroon' - making for one of the best Kroon 'Days' ever!
